“Confused men are burdens you don’t deserve”

r.h. Sin

Leaders need to be clear. Clarity is the greatest gift you can ever give your team.

Clarity allows a team to execute within the framework you have built.  Usain Bolt cannot win a race in which he does not know the distance or rules. If there were no lanes, or distance or officials the race would reduce itself to core human behaviours of confusion and panic.

Because confused leaders create chaos. Leaders who cannot create balanced clarity create a grey space where apathy resonates. And no one deserves this.

There are no bad leaders, only leaders that do not find purpose in the honour of leading or leaders who have not found time to resonate with their team. Not resonating with the people you lead, not being adaptable to how to maximise people is something that will bleed clarity out of an organisation.

A flexible and agile company is an asset but no one wants a leader who they feel changes their mind on a whim. With no consultation or discussion.

But, you cannot be clear when you speak two different languages.

If you are this type of leader, focus on building the shared language of the team.

Tired leaders need to focus on the finish. There is no shame in accepting you are tired. Life, the economy, long hours. It all becomes a. Bit much for us all at some times. A hallmark of a tired leader is someone who managed to inspire with vision but has not managed to feed their own soul through leading in some time.

Your fatigue leads to a cataract forming over the team.

If you are tired, look to finding the finishing path to exit before the vision you once had becomes completely engulfed.

Are you creating clarity in purpose and how in your teams?
